I'm coming towards the end of a 10 day break at home between stints on the road with Third Day. Most of last week was spent with family, especially new grand daughter Hannah. Gill went away with a group of ladies for a cruise, so Bethan and I have been her on our own for the last few days. On Sunday, as well as lunch with Andy Booth and his dad, Jonathan Booth, I preached at City Temple in the evening- 'Moving from the Encounter into the Call' from Isaiah 6, and then spoke late night to a bunch of young leaders at Faith Christian Centre, Newport. Monday saw me taking Rob and Ann Holder from the USA down to the Gower Peninsular. Rob is a coaching legend in the sphere of US rugby, and he was with his wife and one of his daughters here to watch his son play rugby for USA under 17's. We popped into our family caravan and visited Rhossili- and then Rob came with me in the evening as I shared my Iraq experience with Band of Brothers- a men's group growing out from City Temple.
Back up to Heathrow tonight and flying out to New York tomorrow.
My daughter, Jade's soon to be in-laws live in Gower...... it looks lovely. (She's been to both Gower and Goa (India) recently in quick sucession so we are often talking at cross purposes.
So what was it like - holding your grandaughter for the first time?
